Organic cacao trees and sugar cane grow in nutrient-rich soils. So there's a higher level of vitamins and minerals in the chocolate. More antioxidants to protect against cancer and heart disease, more iron and zinc to maintain health. What you don't get in organic chocolate are pesticides and genetically modified ingredients. It's chocolate you can trust.
Better for the growers
That lack of pesticides is good news for the growers. No risk to them or their children of the ill health that can be caused by spraying chemicals on the land. So a treat for you isn't a threat to a poor third world farmer.

Better for the Earth
In conventional farming the manufacure of oil-based agrochemicals means more carbon dioxide emissions. Nitrates get washed into our water courses and therefore into drinking water. Pesticides kill beneficial insects and birds. These products are transported internationally, meaning even more carbon dioxide emissions. Organic fertilisers - manure, compost, green manure - are usually locally available or produced on the farm.
